My Story

I graduated from NC State in May 2010 with a double major in International Politics and French. Following graduation I went to work at Sunset Farms, a small, sustainably run farm in Alamance County. I have been working at Sunset Farms for a little over a year now. At the farm I get to be involved with crops from seed to plate and I love that. While working at the farm I completed my birth doula certification through DONA International. I became officially certified in February 2011, though I was actively practicing as a doula before that. My mother is a doula and I attended my first birth with her when I was 15. I have attended many births with her since then and the hands on experience of working with such an experienced doula in my mother has given me invaluable insight on birth. We still attend births together                               regularly.
